In & Around Portugal
TRAMS & Metro
The trains and metro are affordable and run frequently throughout Lisbon and Sintra.
Uber
We recommend Ubers for traveling around as parking is hard to find in downtown Lisbon, and the streets are narrow and steep in Sintra.
Plane
Nearest airport is the Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) which is 20 minutes away from downtown Lisbon and 30 minutes away from Sintra. note foreigners may require etias to enter portugal.
Rental Car
For day trips outside of Lisbon or Sintra, you may want to rent a car. Please note that parking at the Quinta is limited.
TAXI
as a last resort, taxis can be taken; however sometimes taxi drivers take you on longer routes to increase the fares.

For the Wedding Day
Shuttles
we will be arranging shuttles from basilica estrela to quinta de sao thiago and back to central lisbon/sintra after the reception for three reasons:
​
1) We want you to enjoy the festivities without having to worry about driving.
2) The road to the Quinta is steep and bumpy.
3) Parking at the Quinta is limited.

shuttles will be available after the mass from the basilica. during the reception, Shuttles will being departing from 11pm onwards until 2am. you can also order an uber or taxi if you would like to depart earlier or later, or if the shuttles are between trips and you would like to depart more promptly. shuttles will be departing to central Lisbon and Sintra, so please try to stay in these areas.
